Artist's Comments

Okay. I totally lied. Here you go, an update, albiet military. That's the way it'll stay.

Background:
I love crusader armor. Especially knight's templar armor. I have since I watched "Kingdom of Heaven". The movie was kinda dull, but the battle scenes ruled. I also went to spain two years ago, and there were a lot of suits of armor at the hotels I stayed at, as we toured to different castles and other historic sites. I got a good look at muslim and european styles of architecture and armor, and I decided to blend those styles in the vent-hole design on the helmet (the cross and crecent moon) although this would probrably never happen.

Sorry for the overcomplicated explanation,
-Tyler.

Nice model. The stamp (booleon) cross designs on either side look too harsh compared to the rest of the helmet though. It can be difficult, but next time you might want to consider beveling edges like that (you are using max, right? So the easiest tool for that would probably chamfering edges), it will soften the normals up around those areas and take away from the cg look, not a viable option if you are doing low poly though. Other then that, it is great.

yeah. It's a low-poly model, actually made for oblivion. I was playing around with that game awhile ago, but never got around to importing this. I do, however, intend on making a high-res version soon. Thanks for the tips!
